Northgard currently lacks replays and spectating, making it more difficult to learn from losses to improve your gameplay. I'm a firm believer that for an esport to thrive, the viewer needs to have the information both the players have and a little more to predict possible outcomes and build orders. StarCraft made them different, but Northgard might be small enough that certain selections could pair such as 2v2-4v4, and FFA/ 2ffa respectively being seperate ranks from one another. Whether your rank is shared between these selections is up for debate. Obviously it would hold the current ranked standards for hard hostility, all victory conditions, 1v1 - 4v4, FFA, and 2v2v2(v2) as selections. While Northgard has a ranking system based on wins and losses, it lacks a match making system based around those ranks to pair similarly-skilled players and help them achieve goals of getting to the next rank now visually trackable. So please reply with your ideas and comments for Shiro to see! : D These are my two cents on the topic, but as I've learned from StarCraft 2 and Frost Giant Games, discussion is the best way to iron it out, because every game and its community are different.
I saw in Shiro's feedback they asked how to make the game more competitive. It's a failed program, I suggest the entire community there be reset and the program restarted with only seriously mindful people involved and the bulk of metaslaves excluded. I'm so sick of terrible stuff going into the live game despite the supposedly "high level community" that should instead have made sure it's fixed. Most of them just "practice" what's given there or complain about changes to their current, comfortable meta (like they did back when we tried to change trading meta). They do not actually invest time or thought in experimenting enough in BETA and finding issues, providing useful feedback.Įven with the circulated BETA keys and the access given to Ven's discord members to BETA, a lot of crap ends up not found, reported or discussed.
They're only there to get early access to upcoming content so they can practice it and be ready when the patch is released, get free DLCs (not sure if that's still the case), and feel the privilege. The majority of the community there takes BETA as a privilege rather than a responsibility. I've been in the BETA before and I know a lot of people who are still there. Dumb bugs not discovered or reported enough during BETA time, only surfacing when the game goes public. Not only this patch (which has many serious, reportable issues that should've been resolved in BETA), but almost every patch and DLC before it has had the same issue. The current BETA program community is not good enough. Please consider that Northgard is currently in Early Access. The release of the Rat clan patch in its current shape, after some weeks of it being available for BETA people, is a clear evidence of one thing: Steam News Twitter Facebook Instagram Store.
